The founder
It all started with a cleanse.
Lou Stokely has been juicing for more than ten years. She qualified as a Nutritional Advisor in 2014, a sharp turn from her first degree in theology, and trained with Jason Vale, the Juice Master, who did more than anyone to bring juicing into British kitchens.

The name comes from Lou's own story. She rebuilt her health, physically and mentally, on consistent real food, and came out of it convinced that small daily choices add up. Why a cleanse
A clean slate, never a crash diet.
Recovery Juice has never sold a cleanse as a quick way to lose weight. Lou designs them as a foundation: a few days away from snacking, ultra-processed convenience food and the habits that crowd a normal week, so there's a clear run at building better ones afterwards.

The Signature Juice Cleanse is five full 500ml juices and a ginger shot a day, for three, five or seven days. Heat pasteurisation and high-pressure processing both happen to juice after it's pressed, so it can survive weeks in a supply chain. Recovery Juice skips them. More on the difference: is frozen juice as good as fresh?

Pressed cold. Whole vegetables, fruit and roots, prepped the day they're pressed and never heated.

Capped straight off the press. No concentrate, no added water, no preservatives.

Flash frozen. Into the blast freezer within minutes, then delivered frozen. It keeps for up to three months, and customers defrost a bottle the night before they want it.

Ingredient integrity
Every ingredient earns its place. Every bottle tastes good.
The Nourish judges singled out Recovery Juice's "high ingredient integrity". That's the brief Lou works to. Each blend is built around one whole ingredient, beetroot, fresh root ginger, celery, turmeric, and everything else in the bottle has a reason to be there: lemon to lift it, apple to soften it, cracked black pepper because it has always sat next to turmeric.
Then it has to taste good, or it doesn't leave the juicery. Lou taste-tests every blend herself, and the range is full of juices made for people who think they don't like the ingredient in them.
Beetroot, carrots and celery always come from British farms. Everything else is British whenever the season allows. No powders, no concentrate, no fillers, all pressed in small batches in Essex.
