About the range
What goes into our juice shots
Every shot starts with whole fresh root — ginger or turmeric — pushed through a slow hydraulic press at our juicery in Bishop's Stortford. No powders, no extracts, no concentrate. If a shot says 30g of root, that's 30g of root that went into the press.
That number is the thing worth checking. Most shots on a shelf don't tell you how much root is in them, because it isn't much. Ours run from 10g in the Gentle Ginger up to 40g in the Turmeric, and it's printed on every bottle. The turmeric is pressed with black pepper and citrus, as it traditionally is.
Nothing has added sugar. Everything is flash-frozen within hours of pressing and delivered frozen, so it reaches you exactly as it left the press — no heat, no high pressure, no preservatives.

Why we flash-freeze, never pasteurise
Almost every cold-pressed juice on a UK shelf has had something done to it to make it last — heat, or high pressure. We do neither. We press, we freeze within hours, and it reaches you frozen. Nothing added, nothing taken out, nothing done to it in between.

Pressed
Whole fruit and vegetables go through a slow hydraulic press in small batches at our unit in Bishop's Stortford. Nothing is added.

Flash-frozen
Within hours of pressing, every bottle goes into the blast freezer. No heat, no high pressure, no preservatives — freezing is the only thing we do to it.

Delivered frozen
Packed with ice packs in an insulated box and sent on a tracked UK courier, Monday to Saturday. It arrives frozen or chilled, ready for your freezer.

Defrost & drink
Move a bottle to the fridge overnight, or stand it in cold water for around twenty minutes. Once defrosted, drink it within three days.

It arrives frozen. Then it waits for you.

Mostly about how strong they are, and how much root actually goes in.
How much ginger is actually in a shot?
It's printed on every bottle. Gentle Ginger has 10g of fresh root, Ginger Greens and Ginger Turmeric have 15g, and Ginger Max has 30g. Turmeric Shots have 40g of turmeric root. That's the weight that went into the press, not an extract or a powder equivalent.
Which shot should I start with?
Gentle Ginger. It's 10g of root, so it's warm rather than sharp. If you already drink ginger shots elsewhere, go straight to Ginger Turmeric or Ginger Max — most shots on a shelf are milder than our middle of the range.
How hot is Ginger Max?
Hot. 30g of raw root in 60ml is three times what's in our gentle version, and it catches the back of your throat. People who like it really like it, but it's not the one to start on.
Why is there black pepper in the turmeric shot?
Turmeric and black pepper have been paired in cooking for centuries, and the pepper gives the shot its warmth and a bit of bite against the citrus. Ours has 40g of turmeric root, lemon and a pinch of pepper — that's it.
Is there added sugar?
None. Nothing is sweetened, and there's no juice concentrate bulking them out. What you taste is root, citrus and, in some, apple.
Are they made from powder or extract?
No. Every shot is cold-pressed from whole fresh root on a hydraulic press. No powders, no extracts, no concentrate, no water added.
When should I have one?
Whenever suits you. Most people take one in the morning simply because it's easier to remember, but there's no rule about it — it's a habit thing, not a schedule.
Are they pasteurised?
No. We flash-freeze rather than heat-treat, so nothing is pasteurised or put through high pressure. Keep them frozen until you want one.
How long do they keep?
Three months in the freezer. Take out one at a time — a 60ml shot defrosts in the fridge overnight, or in a few minutes in cold water. Once thawed, keep it in the fridge and drink within three days.
Why does the turmeric settle at the bottom?
Because there's nothing in it to hold it in suspension. Real pressed root separates — give it a shake and it's fine. It's a sign there's no stabiliser in there.
